IJsselmeer, yihaaaa.
IJsselmeer, the Netherlands / July 2006
IJsselmeer is a shallow lake of 1100 km² in the central Netherlands bordering the provinces of Flevoland, North Holland and Friesland, with an average depth of 5 to 6 m. The IJsselmeer is the largest lake in Western Europe and has great flyfishing possibilities but it is not easy!! The most interesting time to flyfish the lake is during summer. Go wading in the shallow parts of the lake, try a dryfly and you have great oppertunities to catch the beautiful poldertrout (rudd) or sometimes ide & carp.
Hereby some pics of one of my flyfishingtrips to this lake.
